To continue on my “Ukrainian” theme, today during lunch i was reading a little more on the political drama in my home country. Few weeks ago the president there disbanded the parliament and is dealing with some serious resistance from people. While i can’t claim i know much about the political system in Ukraine, from what i can tell, it sucks. It seems to me that disbanding the parliament and getting some new politicians elected by people is a decent idea. From what i can remember and from what i’ve heard from parents, etc. Ukrainian politicians are just as corrupt as they are evil, so perhaps a little shake down of the structure is warranted.

In any case, the speech (English transcripts of which can be found here) that The President of Ukraine gave yesterday during Easter celebrations in Kiev was quite interesting. It seems that based on that speech one can say he is truly attempting to bring about some positive changes.

Coincidently, over the weekend i ran into another interesting site. This site (ran by some guy from Moscow) deals with documenting various cars and transportation methods for Moscow’s government administration, police, etc. Well, what interesting about this whole thing is that he has some amazing pictures of idiotic governmental spending. Police officers driving $120k BMW, Porsche’s …etc… Needless to say due to the license plates and paint jobs cars you can see here are government property meaning that people of Russia (many of whom are living below poverty line) paid for these “luxury” vehicles from their communal pockets.
